The Retail Distribution Review (RDR) has proposed the introduction of new minimum qualification requirements for financial advisors: the need for an Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) accredited Level 4 qualification.
It is proposed that existing advisers will be required to achieve a level four qualification by the end of 2012. New advisers will fall under this requirement from 2010.
