It is proposed that existing financial advisors will be required to achieve the level 4 diploma in financial planning qualification by the end of 2012. New financial advisers will fall under this requirement by the end of 2010.

This R01 Financial Services, regulation and Ethics revision workshop is designed to support you with the J01 qualification and given the timescales, it is essential that you do not delay achieving this approved J01 level 4 qualification.

The R01 Financial Services, regulation and Ethics revision workshop is part of the diploma in financial planning qualification and designed to build on the study manual to provide additional support, exam techniques and a greater understanding to help you pass your J01 exam.

We achieve this through group and individual activities involving tax calculations, short answer case studies and questions and J01 mock exams, with all activities on the R01 workshop being debriefed by the trainer to aid learning. Our aim is that everything we cover on the R01 workshop will leave you understanding and be ready to take this unit exam of your diploma in financial planning.

The R01 diploma in financial planning revision workshops are run by professional financial planning trainers who understand the importance of your job and the challenges and difficulties you can face with the continued requirements to demonstrate your professionalism.

Course Objectives

There are two key objectives which depends on your own learning style and ability:

Leave the workshop feeling ready to sit the exam the next day
Leave the workshop having pin pointed the exact areas you need to work on to take your exam to aid your final study time

Course Agenda

Group and individual activities

These will involve dealing with various tax calculations and short answer case studies covering the following:

Income Tax
National Insurance
Capital Gains Tax
Taxation on investments
Inheritance Tax
Liability to UK tax – residence and domicile status

Short Answer Questions

Exam based questions undertaken to practice how to deal with these questions in preparation for the exam and enhance learning and understanding of the study material.

Mock Exams

Two full mock exams will be completed during the workshop, with answers being provided to assess whether you would have achieved a pass or not. This will enable you to understand where your weaknesses are to work on and place you in exam mode so you will be ready for the real one.

Trainer Support

Throughout every activity on the workshop the trainer will be on hand to provide support, deal with questions and ensure each activity is debriefed, not moving on until all individuals understand the area being discussed.

Exam Technique

This is being achieved throughout the two days within each of the activities that have been specially designed to aid your learning.
