The best way to improve coaching skills is through a cycle of concept, practice and reflection: understanding what is needed, trying it out and reflecting on what you can learn from the experience. Introduction to Coaching Skills puts that cycle into practice.
Course Objectives
There is some knowledge input and context setting required and we focus on this at the beginning, before moving on to learn and practise the basic skills associated with coaching. The facilitator will ensure there are frequent opportunities to ‘reflect in practice’ and to use coaching processes to help each other during the course of the workshop.
By the end of the workshop you will have:
Understood the basic coaching model and seven steps of coaching
Explored the barriers to coaching
Practised a number of different coaching sessions and skills
Created an action plan
