Accounting and Reporting for the Renewable Energy Directive (RED)

The Renewable Energy Directive and its sister Fuel Quality Directive are placing increasing requirements on the suppliers of biomass, biofuels and bioliquids into the European Market both to demonstrate the sustainable credentials of the products placed on the European Market and establish clearly defined and demonstrable chains-of-custody.
This course is designed to provide manufacturers, suppliers and traders in the biofuels sector with the necessary tools, techniques and systems to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the RED and additional client specific contractual requirements. It extends the one day Renewable Energy Directive for Suppliers into the European Marketplace in order to provide practical advise on compliance and reporting.

Course Objectives

On completion of the course candidates will be able to e.g.

  • Understand the reporting and data accounting requirements for Carbon and Sustainability Reporting within the RED and FQD.
  • Be able to produce C&S Statements suitable for independent assurance.
  • Understand and use the mass balance reporting systems
  • Understand the contract processes and documentation that will be suitable of satisfy the requirements for independent assurance
