Ms Samantha Harrop

Consultant

Samantha has worked for CA as an Associate of the business for a number of years. She has played a key role in helping organisations develop and deliver their mentoring programmes. Samantha is interested in ensuring programmes are effectively rolled out within businesses and are sustained over the long-term, embedding them into the culture. She believes effective communication is central to making this happen and is keen to see organisations investing time and resource into the communication of their programmes as well as into the programmes themselves.

Samantha has worked in consultancy and in-house roles. As a consultant she has worked for Watson Wyatt, The Item Group and has run her own business.

Samantha’s most recent corporate role was interim Head of Internal Communication at M&S. Prior to that she was Global Head of Internal Communication at Exel, where she managed the communication throughout two major acquisitions; the first when Exel acquired Tibbett & Britten, adding a further 35,000 people to the existing 75,000 strong workforce, and the second when she managed the communication for Exel throughout their acquisition by Deutsche Post in December 2005.

Samantha works with individuals and teams on self development and personal communication; this takes the form of one-to-one coaching and mentoring and through group workshop activities. Samantha adopts a business-focused approach and develops tailor-made solutions to meet real business needs.

Samantha has a degree in Politics and Economics from Newcastle University and is due to start a Masters degree in Contemporary History and Politics in October.
