Mr Mark Miller
Senior Consultant
Mark was with KPMG from July 2000 to July 2003 as Director and Senior Executive for Sustainability Advisory Service in the UK. Responsibilities include the overall development and delivery of services and the maintenance of external accreditations. Mark has extensive experience in the Electronics and Information Technology sectors in addition to Sustainability. He also has specific responsibility for Automotive and Industrial Products markets.
Prior to this he held the post of Operations Director for the start-up certification business within KPMG. This required a full range of management skills from recruitment of technical staff, through development of internal management systems and finally integration into KPMG as a whole. Responsibilities included strategic planning, financial management, line management of 10 managers and operational delivery.
Previously Mark was responsible for business development projects globally within SGS Group, Corporate Head Office in Geneva. Responsibilities included the management and implementation of projects globally; training of auditing staff; programme management of complex management systems for accreditation; and, the development and delivery of internal and external management training courses and seminars within SGS.
Since February 1992 Mark has worked in the accredited certification sector in an extremely wide range of roles. Starting as an ISO9000 lead auditor with SGS Yarsley and ending as the Director of a certification business for KPMG. In between I he he has audited and managed certification for global services and specialist schemes,, including accreditation auditing for INAB. This has provided an insight into the many operating modes for non financial assurance and the organisations that both provide and purchase it.
The experience above has been extensively applied to wide range of Information Governance, CSR and Sustainability scenarios over the years. This, in turn, has resulted in a wide knowledge base from which training and advisory services can be drawn. Mark continues to practice in the areas where training is provided and is committed to the ongoing development of new approaches and development of new skill sets.
